Core idea
Pure accommodation cannot generate attraction; deliberately creating a mild sense of "discomfort" — humor, teasing, partial disagreement — draws the other person in and sparks interest.
Review
The core observation has some basis in social psychology (contrast and investment), but turning it into a mechanical checklist of "81 techniques" is reductive, and misjudged teasing can easily cause offense.
